This is an animated GIF of the Onager firing off a melon. The sling is angled away from the machine because the ground was too hard to dig a hole. This creates lots of problems with the timing of the release. If you look closely you can see the arm hit the stop before the sling's natural release point - resulting in an exploding honey dew!
